Yet the state is getting pummeled again with torrential downpours and ferocious winds, causing power outages and treacherous travel conditions. About 8 million people are under flood watches until midnight Monday for coastal Central California, including the Bay Area. Laila was born blind. Because of her disability and her gender identity, she brings a diverse perspective to our work.
