Across the globe, children and their families are facing a deadly mix of crises, from conflict and displacement to disease outbreaks and soaring rates of malnutrition. Meanwhile, climate change is making these crises worse and unleashing new ones. But while the situation is dire, it’s far from hopeless. We know how to reach the children at greatest risk and in greatest need. Whether it’s distributing winter clothing, providing safe spaces for displaced families or delivering treatments like  Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food  (RUTF), UNICEF is on the ground – from Bangladesh to Yemen, from Haiti to South Sudan.   Bangladesh Appeal Humanitarian Action for Children UNICEF’s Humanitarian Action for Children appeal helps support the agency’s work as it provides conflict- and disaster-affected children with access to water, sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection services.  Bangladesh snapshot: Appeal highlights: Five years into the Rohingya crisis, Bangladesh hosts 943,529 Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar District, including 490,635 children. The refugees rely heavily on international aid and humanitarian assistance. As of August 2022, 26,043 Rohingya refugees had been relocated to Bhasan Char Island. More than 8 million people in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barishal, Khluna and Chattogram Divisions (43 per cent of them children) are affected by devastating floods and cyclones every year.   War in Ukraine: Support for children and families The war has been devastating for Ukraine’s families. UNICEF and partners are on the ground providing support for those in need. The children and families of Ukraine have endured more than nine months of escalating devastation and displacement. Children continue to be killed, wounded and deeply traumatized by the violence all around them. Schools, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure on which they depend continue to be damaged or destroyed. Families have been separated and lives torn apart.   UNICEF was in Ukraine before the war broke out, and in the weeks and months since has stayed and delivered.
